Notably, the body of Nilambar Banchhor of Dadholmunda village had been recovered from Bander Reserve Forest area on Friday in badly mutilated condition. While his throat was found slit, burn injuries were also spotted all over the body pointing at possible electrocution.
During the investigation it came to light that, Nilambar had stumbled upon an illegal electric trap laid to catch wild animals inside the forest and died of electrocution. The accused, with a motive to destroy evidence regarding poaching slit the throat of the victim and dumped him inside the forest, informed police.
While all 12 accused held in connection with the case are from Brahmanipalli village another is missing. He would be traced soon, added police.
