The Jharsuguda district administration on Friday ordered the closure of all street fast food shops for the next 15 days across the district in order to check the spread of the coronavirus.
The street vendors will be given Rs 2,500 each as compensation for complying with the district administration’s closure order.
“There will be no road side vending of fast food and other readymade cooked edibles for 15 days in our district from 25.09.2020 to contain the spread of COVID. Such small businessmen will be incentivised @2500/- per capita for compliance. Deviation will invite penal action,” tweeted the Jharsuguda District Collector.
According to Health and Family Welfare Department, the district has reported 3,910 positive Covid-19 cases, so far. A total of 2,927 patients have recovered while 982 are undergoing treatment. Only one person has succumbed to the virus, so far in the district.
