Sambalpur, Feb 9: Police imposed a fine of Rs 26,000 against the owner of a scooter for allowing a minor boy to ride her vehicle in Kuchinda town in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Tuesday.
As per reports, Kuchinda police intercepted the boy near Sameleswari temple in the town during a regular checking while he was riding without a helmet.
Upon enquiry, police found that the boy did not have a driving license and was riding the scooter, registered in the name of one Jhili Munda.
“A challan of Rs 26,000 was issued to the owner of the scooter for allowing a minor boy ride the two-wheeler and violating several other rules under the MV Act,” said a police officer.
Police also seized the scooter and registered a case in this connection.
