"All Central Government employees of the age of 45 years and above are advised to get themselves vaccinated, so as to effectively contain the spread of COVID-19," said an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions today.
The Central Government employees are also advised to continue to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour even after vaccination by frequent washing of hands and sanitisation, wearing a mask or face cover and observing social distancing etc.
Currently, all persons of the age of 45 years and above can participate in the vaccination exercise across the country.
India, the second worst-hit country in the world, crossed over one lakh daily Coronavirus cases for the first time on Monday. Today, it recorded 96,982 fresh Coronavirus cases and 442 deaths due to the virus.
