“Odisha has a population of 4.5 crore. The State Government claims to have made a plan to distributed BSKY smart health cards to about one crore families. But the Naveen Patnaik Government has not made adequate provision in the Budget to meet the expenditure,” said Majhi..
Informing that a budgetary provision of Rs 150 crore has been made for BSKY in the 2021-22 Budget, Majhi said the State Government has, thus, made a provision of Rs 150 per family for BSKY coverage. “It is estimated that Rs 70 to Rs 75 is being spent for holding distribution programmes and meeting advertisement costs in the media. Then, how the State Government will be able to provide treatment support of Rs 5 lakh to a family at an expense of just Rs 75,” questioned Majhi.
