New Delhi, Apr 17: India reported as many as 2,34,692 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the positive case tally of the country to 1,40,74,564, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.
As many as 1,341 COVID-related deaths were reported in the country in the past 24 hours. With this, the Covid related death toll of the country reached to 1,75,649.
A total of 1,26,71,220 people have recovered from the virus, so far. The total active Covid-19 caseload in the country stood at 1,45,26,609.
As per the Health Ministry's data, Delhi and Maharashtra recorded their biggest single-day rise in coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic in January 2020.
Maharashtra reported 63,729 infections, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 27,426 new infections and Delhi with 19,486 new cases.
