“In last 24 hours, total 15 tankers containing more that250 tonnes of medical oxygen from Rourkela, Jajpur and Angul district in Odisha have been dispatched to Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad (Telangana), Indore (MP), Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur (Maharashtra),” informed a release of Odisha police.
It said a dedicated corridor has been formed by Odisha Police for prompt and unhindered movement so as to serve thousands of needy patients without delay.
The release further informed that two tankers from Angul to Vishakhapatnam, two tankers from Jajpur to Ghaziabad and Vishakhapatnam will leave soon.
While a special cell has been formed under ADG (L&O) YK Jethwa as nodal officer for coordination action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen from Odisha to States facing deficit, district SPs and other senior offices are supervising the movement personally within their jurisdiction.
“We are committed towards smooth and prompt movement of medical oxygen to needy States,” said Odisha Police.
