New Delhi, Feb 12: Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan, on Friday paid tribute to Hindu reformer and Arya Samaj founder Dayananda Saraswati on his birth anniversary.
“Salute to the founder of the Arya Samaj and the great social reformer, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, on his birth anniversary,” said Pradhan in tweet.
“A visionary, Swamiji improved people's lives through education and social reforms. His eternal teachings will continue to guide us through the ages,” the Minister added.
Born on this day in 1824, Dayananda had launched a Hindu reform movement, denouncing idolatry and ritualism.
The noted Vedic scholar advocated the doctrine of Karma and Reincarnation. He emphasized the Vedic ideals of brahmacharya, including celibacy and devotion to God.
