Nayagarh, Mar 28: One person died and more than 10 passengers sustained injuries as a private-run bus overturned near Darada village under Khandapada police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district in the wee hours of Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as the helper of the bus. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
As per reports, a private bus, namely Chaudhary, was heading towards Badamba Narasinghpur in Cuttack district from Berhampur. It was reportedly carrying more than 40 passengers.
The driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheels following which the vehicle overturned near Darada village in the wee hours of today.
On being informed, the fire brigadiers and Khandapada police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons with the help of the locals.
The injured were rushed to Kandapada hospital where the helper died while undergoing treatment. Three critically injured persons were shifted to the the District Headquarter Hospital here, sources said.
Meanwhile, Khandapada police started a probe into the matter.
