Keonjhar, Feb 25: At least one person was killed and more than 20 people sustained injuries as the bus they were travelling in overturned near Kanjipani ghat under Telkoi police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Thursday.
As per reports, the bus, carrying around 40 passengers of a marriage party from Rourkela, was on its way to Dhenkikote in the district when the driver lost control over the wheels at the ghat road following which the vehicle overturned.
One person reportedly died on the spot in the accident. The identity of the deceased was not revealed till the report was filed.
On being informed, Telkoi police and fire brigades reached the spot and rescued the injured persons with the help of the locals.
The injured persons were rushed to the Community Health Centre in Telkoi for their treatment.
Meanwhile, Telkoi police seized the bus and started a probe into the matter.
