He slammed BJD Rajya Sabha MP Prasanna Acharya for asking the Union Government to make public whey it has asked the Odisha Government for land. Acharya had put this question after Railways Minsiter Ashwini Vaishnaw assured the people that project work will begin a day after land is given by the Odisha Government for the project.
In reaction to Acharya’s contention, Pujari said the Rajya Sabha MP’s statement puts a question on the commitment of the State Government and the Biju Janata Dal for people of Padampur.
“The State Government’s responsibility for acquisition of land begins on the day the project was approved by the Centre. But it is ridiculing that the MP wants to know the date when the Centre asked for the land,” said Pujari.
He said it is disappointing that the State Government has not acquired an inch of land for the Bargarh-Nuapada railway line even 11 months after tender was issued for the project.
Pujari further alleged that the State Government and the BJD never understand their responsibilities for the State and its people. Tender was issued on December 3, 2021 for the project. Odisha Railway Infrastructure Development Limited has already informed the Odisha Government about the quantum of land required for the project. Odisha Government was required to acquire land and hand over the same to the ORIDL.
