The dawn-to-dust shutdown was spearheaded by the Rairakhole Citizens Committee.
Activists staged road blockades at Bhima Bhoi chhak and Medical chhak. Shops, bazaars, Government offices and courts were closed. Due to the road blockade, hundreds of heavy vehicles were stranded on both the sides of the town.
The committee, however, withdrew the road blockade at around 12 pm on the assurance of the district administration and NHAI officials. But shops and markets were still closed.
