“Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection. During monsoon more positive cases are reported. At least 3,484 samples were tested till yesterday. Of the total 124 persons have been found positive for the mosquito-borne viral infection. Though dengue cases being reported in 17 districts, Khordha is witnessing a rise in positive cases,” Mishra said. Khordha district reported the highest 48 dengue cases followed by Koraput (19), Puri (18) and Malkangiri (12).

“Health Department is taking all possible measures to tackle the situation. A special dengue ward has been opened at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar,” the Public Health Director said.
