Bhubaneswar, Apr 22: Taking another step to check the spread of coronavirus, the State Government on Thursday said people coming to Odisha from West Bengal will have to stay in quarantine for 14 days.
Addressing a Press meet, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra stated that triple mutant variant of Covid infection has reportedly marked in West Bengal and, thus, it is very likely to pose problem for Odisha.
“Check posts will be put up at all entry points. Those who will come from Odisha will be sent to 14-day quarantine. It will be applicable for all those coming through all means on road, by air and by train,” said Mohapatra.
He said they will be allowed to go for a home quarantine if their sample tests come negative in 48 hours. It will also be applicable for those who have taken two doses of vaccine, he said.
