--2,074 new Covid positive cases detected in Odisha
--State's positive tally rises to 9,45,749; active cases stand at 22,860
Bhubaneswar, Jul 14: Odisha reported a slight increase in the number of daily Covid-19 positive cases compared to the last two days with 2,074 persons being found infected with the virus in 30 districts in the last 24 hours, informed Information and Public Relations Department on Wednesday.
The State had logged 1930 Covid positive cases yesterday and 1993 cases a day before. With new 2,074 positive cases, the State’s tally mounted to 9,45,749.
Out of the fresh cases, 1,192 were detected from quarantined people, while the rest 882 found as local contacts, informed the department.
Among districts, Khordha recorded the highest of 443 cases, followed by Cuttack 283, Puri 133, Jajpur 120, Balasore 115, Mayurbhanj 115, Bhadrak 110, Jagatsinghpur 99, Dhenkanal 61, Angul 59, Kendrapada 58, Nayagarh 58, Sundargarh 56, Malkangiri 47, Keonjhar 46, Bargarh 38, Sambalpur 30, Kandhamal 19, Balangir 17, Rayagada 16, Boudh 12, Koraput 10, Nabarangpur 10, Sonepur nine, Ganjam, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi five each, Nuapada four and Deogarh and Gajapati three each.
Besides, 85 cases were reported from the State pool.
During the period, 2,641 Covid19 patients recovered, taking the State’s total recoveries to 9,18,041 and bringing down active cases to 22,860.
A total of 1,47,72,938 cumulative tests have been done so far, added the department.
