As per the report, the gas cylinder had been kept under a shed at Naidupalli crusher unit when caught fire. In no time it exploded with loud noise leaving two persons working at the unit dead on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar and Suresh.
Two other staffs of the crusher unit namely, Deepak Patra, Sai Gopal and Sushant Panda sustained critical burn injuries in the mishap.
They were first rushed to Kukudakhandi Medical and then shifted to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.
Local police and the district administration officials rushed to the spot immediately and sent the bodies for autopsy.
While it is being suspected that the cylinder had been kept along with explosives in the shed due to which the mishap took place, the same is being investigated by police.
