Bhubaneswar, Apr 8: As many as 228 Covid 19 patients recovered in Odisha on Wednesday, taking the number of persons cured of the virus in the State to 3,38,890, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department.
According to the data furnished by the department in its Twitter account, the highest 40 patients recovered in Nuapada district, followed by 34 in Bargarh, 26 each in Khordha and Sundargarh, 22 in Kalahandi, 16 in Cuttack, nine in Angul, seven each in Ganjam and Mayurbhanj, six in Baleswar, five each in Bolangir and Jajpur, three each Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nabarangpur and Rayagada, two each in Jharsuguda, Nayagarh and Puri and one recovered in Jagatsinghpur district.
Besides, six recoveries were reported from the State Pool.
Notably, the State witnessed death of person due to Covid 19 infection during the last 24 hours and, thus, the number of Covid deaths rose to 1,923.
However, the State’s Covid positive tally rose to 3,45,526 after 879 new positive cases were detected in the last 24 hours. Out of 879 new cases, 518 were detected from among quarantined persons and 361 detected as local contacts.
