Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: As many as 246 Covid 19 patients recovered in Odisha on Wednesday, taking the number of persons cured of the virus in the State to 3,38,662, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department.
According to the data furnished by the department in its Twitter account, the highest 74 patients recovered in Nuapada district, followed by 35 in Khordha, 22 in Bargarh, 15 in Cuttack, 10 in Ganjam, nine each in Bolangir, Puri and Sundargarh, eight each in Baleswar and Kalahandi, six in Nabarangpur, five each in Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur, four each in Jajapur and Keonjhar, three each in Angul, Jharsuguda and Kendrapara, two each in Jagatsinghpur and Kandhamal and one each recovered in Koraput, Rayagada and Sonepur district.
Besides, seven recoveries were reported from the State Pool.
Notably, the State witnessed death of person due to Covid 19 infection during the last 24 hours and, thus, the number of Covid deaths rose to 1,923.
However, the State’s Covid positive tally rose to 3,44,647 after 791 new positive cases were detected in the last 24 hours. Out of 791 new cases, 459 were detected from among quarantined persons and 332 detected as local contacts.
