Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday arrested two Delhi-based drug peddlers here in Odisha for allegedly transporting ganja through a courier service.
Acting on the tip-off by a courier service company, a team of Saheed Nagar police went to the office of the company in the State Capital and recovered 45 kg of ganja concealed inside garments in several packets.
On the basis of the address of the sender, police later arrested two drug peddlers of Delhi from Kochilai market here.
“The accused normally procure ganja from Gajapati district and send that contraband item to the National Capital through courier service,” a senior police officer said.
The accused have been booked under the NDPS Act and investigation is underway to find out the locals involved in the illegal trade, he added.
