As per reports, the fire broke out in the forest since last two days and it started to spread towards nearby village.
The villagers were reportedly shifted to the temporary houses near the forest due to a land acquisition drive by the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
After noticing fire engulfing the houses, locals alerted the Fire Department.
Fire brigades from Chhendipada and Angul rushed to the spot and doused the flame. By that time, as many as 50 temporary houses were gutted in fire.
However, no injuries or causalities have been reported so far.
