According to reports, the joint squads destroyed the ganja plantation following the direction of Gajapati SP Tapan Kumar Patnaik.
Estimated value of the destroyed ganja plantation would be worth around Rs 13.24 crore, an official said.
Earlier in the week, the police and excise personnel had destroyed ganja plants worth around Rs 17.28 crore spread across 86 acre of land near Kadamali and Budni villages in the region.
Locals however alleged that how come the forest department and police remained silent while acres and acres of land in the region were being used for ganja cultivation.
They also alleged that there might be a nexus between ganja cultivators and forest department to carry out hemp smuggling to different parts of the State and outside.
