Getting a tip-off on a drug trade which was running discreetly in a house owned by one Rabi Narayan Samartha in Chandiabeda area a few days back, police put it under scanner.
The Special Squad of Nabarangpur Police led by Umerkote Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dinesh Kumar Nayak carried out a raid at the concerned house and found 712 kg ganza.
Later, the owner of the house and three others were taken into custody after failing to produce a permit for storing the cannabis.
Cases under the relevant Sections of NDPS Act have been lodged against the held accused and further investigation is underway in connection with the seizure.
