At least eight more people died of Covid-19 in Odisha during the last 24 hours, taking the State’s death toll to 691 on Saturday.
“Regret to inform of the demise of nine Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals,” tweeted the Family and Health Welfare Department.
The deceased included six males and three females. While two patients died in Bargarh, one each died in Bhadrak, Bolangir, Cuttack, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada and Sambalpur according to the department.
The deceased were identified as 63-year-old male of Bargarh district was also suffering from diabetes & hypertension, 55-year-old female of Bargarh district was also suffering from diabetes, 52-year-old male of Bhadrak district, 55-year-old male of Bolangir was also suffering from diabetes, 78-year-old female of Cuttack district, 37-year-old male of Gajapati district was also suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, 73-year-old male of Puri district, 52-year-old male of Rayagada district, and 60-year-old female of Sambalpur district.
