Bhubaneswar, Apr 11: Due to shortage of vaccines, as many as 900 centres remained closed on Sunday, said Family and Health Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahy.
Panigrahy said 579 vaccination centres were operating on the day with available vaccines. The State had 2,33,000 Covishield vaccines and 77,960 Covaxin vaccines on Sunday, he said.
Tika Utsav is going on at places where vaccines are available, he added.
He said many districts will go stock-out tomorrow if vaccine doesn’t reach today. The districts which received vaccines yesterday will continue holding Tika Utsav.
While 42 lakh vaccines have been administered by now, focus is now being given on worst-hit district such as Khordha, Sundargarh, Nuapada and Bolangir, he said.
