As per the report, some fishermen came across the carcass lying on the sand near Digabarini Khunti. The called up Forest Department officials and reported the matter.
After the officials reached the spot and examined the dead fish it was found to be 3-feet-long and very identical to Bottlenose dolphin found in the Chilika lake.
While the carcass was seized for test by the officials it is being suspected that the fish could have been died after being hit by fishing trawlers frequenting sea in large numbers.
While the incident has irked the environmentalists, it is not the first occasion that a large fish has been found dead from Puri beach, on April 4, 2017 a 32-foot long whale carcass had also been found from the sea shore near Pantha Nivas.
