Highlighting various initiatives being taken by the Narendra Modi Government for financial inclusion with a vision to provide banking to the unbanked, funding the unfunded and serving unserved and underserved areas, Pradhan in a series of tweets said, “With focus from providing banking to ‘every household’ to providing banking to ‘every unbanked adult’, Narendra Modi Government is committed to take financial inclusion to the last mile.”
Benefits worth Rs 60,865 crore have been transferred directly to beneficiary accounts in Odisha for over 65 Central schemes, like PMUY, PMAY, PMKisan and PMVVY. Direct benfit Transfer (DBT) has been a win-win for both the Government and the beneficiaries, especially in a rural economy like Odisha, wrote Pradhan, who hails from Odisha.
Mudra Yojna has emerged as another strategic tool for financial inclusion and strengthening micro-enterprises in the country. Opening a world of possibilities for the people and removing barriers of financing, loans under Mudra have empowered more than 41 lakh people in Odisha, said the Union Minister.
