Pradhan, who is on a visit to the State, was answering to a question of reporters when said, the Odisha minister’s answer on the floor of the House yesterday is very disturbing for every Odia and the shock is quite natural.
“If whatever is being reported by the media is true then what the investigators in the case was doing for last four months. What drove the victim’s parents to take the extreme step in front of the State Assembly,” asked Pradhan post paying floral tribute at the statue of Dr B R Amendkar in Bhubaneswar.
“I hope the investigation in the case will move in the right direction as the matter is related to the safety and security of girl child and women of the State in large. Those who are involved in the case as well as those who have made dereliction of duty in the investigation must be punished, otherwise there will pervail a lawlessness in the society,” concluded the Union Minister.
Pari had gone missing from her house in Jadupur village in Nayagarh on July 14, 2020. Police recovered the child’s body stuffed in a bag from the backside of her house on July 23.
