The deceased has been identified as Biranchi Narayan Patra of nearby Dihabalianta village.
According to information, Biranchi spent the Thursday night at his friend Mitu Nayak’s house in Patana village. However, Mitu informed Biranchi’s parents about his death on Friday morning.
On being informed by locals, Balianta PS IIC Yuvaraj Swain along with his team reached the spot and recovered the body. After sending the body to the Capital Hospital for post-mortem, the police detained his two friends, Guna Swain and Mitu Nayak, for interrogation.
A complaint has been filed by Biranchi’s wife Manorama Patra at the police station in this regard. She alleged that the two friends, Guna and Mitu, killed her husband.
Police said the reason behind the death of Biranchi would be known on receipt of the post-mortem report.
