Addl Covid restrictions for capital city: 100 people to be allowed for marriages

Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: In view of rise in Covid 19 positive cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed additional restrictions in holding meetings and other gatherings in the capital city.  

As per the fresh restrictions, only 100 people will be allowed for holding marriages, the attendance ceiling for cremation/funeral pyre is 50.

Organizations and institutions have been asked not to hold any silver, gold or diamond jubilee celebrations, Educational institutions have been asked not to observe annual functions.

BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury said the fresh restrictions will be enforced from April 6, 2021.

It may be noted that The BMC has expedited raids in malls and other crowded places to see strict execution of Covid safety protocols in those places. Squads collected fine of Rs 22,000 from two malls in the Market Building Complex, Unit II yesterday.
