The patient is doing fine after the kidney transplant.
According to information, it was kidney of a deceased 15-year-old girl Siddhi Samrudhhi of Brahmapur that was transplanted in 34-year-old Anamika Sahoo of Jagatsinghpur after hours long operation. Anamika, who was in the queue to get a donated kidney, was in Mumbai. On receiving a phone call from the SCB authorities, she came to Cuttack and got admitted in the Kidney Transplant department. The kidney transplant was done today.
Similarly, another kidney of Siddhi Samrudhi was transplanted on another person successfully. This means that the girl, Siddhi Samruddhi, though passed away bereaving her family, could save two valuable lives.
The family members of Anamika have thanked SCB doctors for the successful transplant.
The first cadaveric transplant was done in SCB MCH in 2020. Later, another transplant had been done. And this was done for the first time after Covid pandemic.
