Baripada, May 29: A television journalist succumbed to Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Saturday. He was 46.
Asit Behera, a reporter of a regional TV channel, was admitted to the private-run hospital here after testing positive for Covid-19 around 10 days ago. However, he breathed his last at 6.15 am today, sources said.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
A resident of Teranti village under Sukruli police station limits of Mayurbhanj district, Behera was working for Kanak News from Karanjia.
So far, as many as 33 journalists of the State have died due to Covid-19 during the second wave of the deadly virus this year.
