Naygarh, Dec 12: Amid the strong protests by the opposition parties over the alleged kidnapping and murder of five-year-old girl ‘Pari’ in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, another minor girl of the district has reportedly gone missing.
As per reports, a three-year-old girl, daughter of Sanjay Sahu and Sabita Sahu of Badhipatna village under Ranpur police limits in the district, has been missing since Friday afternoon.
The minor girl was playing in the village but did not return home in the afternoon. Later, her family member searched for her with the help of the villagers but couldn’t trace her.
Subsequently, her father filed a written complaint at Rajsunakhala police outpost in this connection.
Local police and fire fighters have launched a massive search operation to trace the missing girl.
Notably, five-year-old girl, Pari, had gone missing in similar fashion while she was playing near her house at Jadupur village in the district on July 14 this year. Later on July 23, her decomposed body was found stuffed in a sack behind the house near a pond.
The opposition BJP and Congress have been targeting the State government on the issue ever since the girl’s parents attempted self-immolation in front of the State Assembly on November 24, seeking justice for their daughter.
Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by senior IPS officer Arun Bothra has been probing the ‘Pari’ case.
