Kendrapara, Mar 4: Good news for people of Kendrapara. The district which has not seen any big industry yet will get a mega steel plant in coming days if a memorandum of understanding, signed between the State Government and the ArecelorMittal on Thursday, materialises.
According to the MoU, the ArecellorMittal, one of the major steelmaking companies in the world, will establish a 12-million tonne capacity steel plant in Kendraparad district. The company will invest a total of Rs 50,000 crore for the project.
It may be noted that ArcelorMittal executive chairman Laxmi Mittal and CEO Aditya Mittal had met Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in his official residence in New Delhi on last Tuesday. They had discussed about possible growths in oil, gas, steel, petrochemicals and mines sectors in Odisha.
