The incident occurred in Sahaspur and Jhadata villages under Khantapada police station limits in the district late last night after disputes over alleged passing of lewd comments at girls during a festival.
As per reports, a group of youths allegedly passed lewd comments at some girls in the village. The girls narrated the incident to their family members and relatives.
Later, a clash erupted between two groups. Members of both groups sustained injuries during the violent clash.
A group of youths ransacked a shop near Jhadata chhak and set a bike on fire, while another group staged road blockade on Anantpur-Gopalpur road near Jhadata chhak by burning tyres.
On being informed, police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Two separate complaints were lodged against the members of the two groups, a police official said.
