Addressing a presser held here, Odisha Congress president Sharat Patnaik said, “Jairam Ramesh and Digvijaya Singh will arrive in the State to discuss on organizing ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in the State. A meeting will be held with district presidents, coordinators and block presidents on the following day (September 18).”
“Congress party will reach out people over various issues including, employment, price rise, health and education related issues,” he added.
The Odisha Congress leader further said that there would be no impact on the people of the State, no matter how many Union Ministers visit the State. “Their visits are politically motivated,” said Patnaik.
He further hit out at the ruling BJD saying, “The ruling party is no more blaming Centre. The BJD and BJP are working together,” Patnaik said.
It may be noted that, on May 15, Congress president Sonia Gandhi announced that the party will embark on a "Bharat Jodo" pad yatra from October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and will also set a task force for internal reforms within a week.
