Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: The normal life was affected at several places in Odisha on Friday due to the 12-hour ‘Bharat Vyapar Bandh’ called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) in protest against Goods and Services Tax (GST) and E-Way Bill.
Traders from across the State extended their support the dawn-to-dusk bandh, protesting some of the amendments made recently in the GST rules.
Major cities of Odisha today wore a deserted look as all goods vehicles were off the road supporting the protest.
Shops and other business establishments have also downed their shutter in support of the bandh.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has deployed additional 20 platoons of police force in the city to avoid any untoward situation during the bandh.
