BNP which is famous for estuarine crocodiles had been ordered for a closure following the start of breeding season of the reptile which is an endangered species, on May 1.
While the closure had been put in place till July 31, Odisha Government imposed lockdown on May 5.
However, soon after the State Government announced for relaxations under August Covid guidelines yesterday, the BNP authorities took the call on reopening.
After the reopening, visitors will be allowed into the national park during day time only. For the time being night stay inside the park has been done away with.
