According to information, Arukha filed nomination papers before the Assembly Secretary amid presence of his proposers, who comprised Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari, MLA Pranab Prakash Das, Bhupinder Singh, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
As per the scheduled, election to the Speaker post will be held on June 13, if required. On that day, the new Speaker will also administered oath of office and secrecy by the Governor.
Analysts said Arukha is likely to win the post unopposed as no other MLA is expected to file nomination and become a contestant to him. The BJD has adequate numbers to garner the post.
