According to information, the State BJP has prepared a strategy to reach out to all voters and make them aware of various failures of the BJD Government and pro-people schemes of the Narendra Modi Government. “Our candidate has been in touch with people for long. Our party had campaigned a lot earlier and will make all efforts to grab the seat,” said Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi.
Speaker to reporters, Congress MLA Suresh Kumar Routray said his party would make price rise as main poll plank. “Our leaders will go to people and make them aware what Congress had done for people of the Constituency during its rule. The party will make price rise as main poll plank. Our party candidate will win the seat,” said Routray.
BJD leader and Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said, “We (party leaders) have been in touch with party workers and our candidate has been in touch with people for the last four months since the by-poll was cancelled in view of Covid19 situation. Now the by-poll has been rescheduled for September 30 for which campaign will begin on September 20. We are in a comfortable position and win the seat with a good margin,” said Dash.
Notably, the Election Commission of India has announced by-poll to the Pipili assembly constituency on September 30. The counting of votes and announcement of the results will be done on October 3.
While BJD has fielded Rudra Pratap Maharathy, the BJP candidate is Ashrit Patnaik. Congress has fielded Biswokehan Harichandan Mohapatra after death of its earlier candidate Ajit Mangaraj due to Covid-19.
