Bhubaneswar, May 16: BJP Odisha president Samir Mohanty on Sunday severely criticized the State Government for not setting up of temporary medical centres (TMCs) for treatment of Covid patients while the number of dialy Covid cases is hovering above 10,000 for the last seven-eight days.
“Migrants have returned home. Odisha is witnessing more than 10,000 new Covid positives every day. While the Covid situation has worsened during the second wave of coronavius, TMCs are not operating. The State Government has completely failed in managing Covid situation,” Mohanty alleged at a Press meet here.
He demanded reoperation of TMCs across the State at the earliest. He wanted to know what decision the Government has taken to the “committee formation” proposal made by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for proper management of Covid.
Mohanty also demanded that the number of daily Covid tests be increased soon. “It is a matter of concern that more than 10,000 Covid positive cases are being reported daily even as a very low number of tests is being conducted,” lamented Mohanty.
Mohany demanded that the Government make an online system for providing Covid certificates to patents.
