Meanwhile, the Jharsuguda unit of the BJP has demanded a proper investigation into the suspected death of Lalita. “It is not understood if Lalit committed suicide or was killed,” said Trinath Gual, a leader of the Jharsuguda BJP.
Gual said it is being discussed in the town that Minister Naba Das’s daughter Deepali had deposited Rs 7 lakh in cook Lalita’s bank account. “I also suspect that Deepali had deposited the money in Lalita’s bank account. The police should investigate as to who deposited the money in Lalita’s account and the reason behind the deposit,” demanded Gual.
Lalita, a resident of Nuapada village under the Balimi police station in Dhenkanal district, was reportedly serving as a cook in the Naba Das’ house. He was found hanging in the servant quarter on Sunday.
