Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: The BJP Odisha unit observed 53rd death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, co-founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangha (BJS) and its first organising secretary, at the party’s State headquarters here on Thursday.
The party observes Upadhyaya’s death anniversary as Samarpana Divas.
Leaders and activists paid rich tributes to Padhyaya by recalling his ideologies and contributions for the country.
“Panditji had worked for welfare of the poorest of the poor people in the society throughout his life. Antodaya scheme was a big achievement of Upadhyaya. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had followed the Anthodaya thought of Upadhyaya. Incumbent Prime Minister has made big achievements following the Antodaya Ideology. We must follow Upadhyay’s path,” said BJP State general secretary Lekhasri Samantsinghar.
On the occasion, the leaders aptly listened to the Prime Minister’s message and vowed to follow the ideologies of Upadhyaya and serve the nation.
