Nayagarh, Dec 10: BJP Odisha Pravari (in-charge) D Purandeswari, who is currently on a four-day visit to Odisha, on Thursday visited Nayagarh district and reiterated her party’s demands of a CBI inquiry into the Paree killing case and ouster of Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo.
Purandeswari along with BJP State president Samir Mohany, senior leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Lekhasri Samantsinghar and other party leaders visited Jadupur village this morning and consoled Paree’s parents, Ashok Sahoo and Saudamini. She too visited the site from where skeletal remains of Paree had been recovered.
The team alleged that the ongoing SIT investigation is meant to protect the State Government and is unlikely to give any justice to Paree’a parents. “Only a CBI inquiry can bring the truth and punish culprits. Thus, we demand a CBI inquiry into the incident and ouster of Minister Arun Sahoo for protecting the accused,” said Purandeswari.
Notably, BJP activists led by Irani Ray have been staging a dharna at the district Collector’s office at Nayagarh, demanding justice for Paree, for a few days now. On Thursday, more leaders and workers joined the sit-in agitation.
