BJP stages protest against drainage problem in city

Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: The BJP, Bhubaneswar district unit on Saturday staged a massive protest at Bharapur in protest against lackadaisical attitude of the Bhubaneswar Municipality in resolving the drainage problem in the locality.

Hundreds of activists belonging to Shrikrushna Mandal, Bharapur unit of the BJP led by district president Babu Singh holding banners staged the protest.

“The road from Fire Station to Sum Hospital is being inundated with drain water even on summer days. As a result people residing in Ward 22 are facing lot of troubles. People are forced to was their legs in drain water before entering houses.  Despite our repeated requests, the BMC autjhorities have not taken any action,” said Singh.

Singh warned that agitation will be intensified if no action is taken by the BMC to resolve the problem soon.
