Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: A 10-member team of BJP leaders led by party’s State President Samir Mohanty will leave for Kotia in Koraput district today to talk to people there and enquire about their problems amid reported attempts made by Andhra Pradesh to take them to their fold.
"Kotia belongs to Odisha. We will visit there to know the problems of the people," said Mohanty.
When asked to comment on panchayat elections being held by Andhra Pradesh in Kotia area, Mohanty said they will talk to people personally.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik, who is part of the team, slammed the State Government for “failing to provide basic facilities to people in the State, including Kotia area.”
“The Naveen Patnaik Government has failed to provide irrigation and other basic facilities to people in the State. It has even failed in utilizing Central funds. Whopping amount of Rs 29,000 crore is lying unspent for long. Taking advantage of this, Andhra Pradesh is trying to attract Odisha people on border to its side,” alleged Naik.
