Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party, the main Opposition in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, will raise issues like delay in paddy procurement, inaction in Mahanga double murder, worsening of law and order, border dispute and irregularities in PM Away Yojana for discussion in the House during the Budget Session beginning tomorrow.
Besides, the party will also raise issues of women safety, unemployment, mines scam, non-execution of Central scheme by the State Government and drinking water problem in the Assembly.
The BJP Legislature Party met under the chairmanship of Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik held discussions on various people and State-centric issues.
“During the 20 years of rule, the BJD Government has failed in providing basic facilities to people. Border disputes are continuing for years. The State Government has not been able to undertake developmental activities in border areas. It has failed in procuring paddy from farmers. For this, thousands of quintals of paddy have been destroyed. Farmers are facing distress sale. Many such issues will be raised during the Budget Session,” said Naik.
Among others, BJP State president Samir Mohanty, Opposition Deputy Leader Bishnu Sethy, MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, State vice-president Bhrugu Baxipatra and State general secretaries Golak Mohapatra and Lekhasri Samantsinghar were present.
