The deceased has been identified as Inder Singh. He was a resident of Rajasthan
Singh, who was posted at 15th battalion of BSF, allegedly shot himself on his head with his service rifle at around 8.20 AM, sources said.
The jawan was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the Asha Kiran Hospital in Lamataput in the district where the doctors declared him “brought dead”.
Meanwhile, a probe has been initiated to ascertain the cause behind the jawan taking the extreme step.
