BSF Jawan critical in landmine explosion in Malkangiri

Malkangir, Feb 21: A BSF jawan was injured critically as a landmine, repotedly planted by Maoists, exploded at Gugapadar in Daldali Forest under Mathili PS in Malkangiri district today.

The jawan, identified as Dharmendra Sahoo of Chhattisgarh, was first rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he was later shifted to Raipur by a helicopter for further treatment.

According to information, a joint search operation by Odisha Police and the 160 Battalion of the Border Security Force was underway when a landmine planted underground exploded on a jungle road at Gugapadar under Mathili PS.
