Malkangiri, Feb 23: A major ambush plan by Maoists on security forces was foiled by the personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) in the Swabhiman Anchal of the Malkangiri last night after they detected and defused a few explosives in Kadalibandha village.
As per the report, based on intelligence input BSF personnel carried out a search operation in Hantalguda forest last night and found out a bag containing a number of explosives left under a hillock in Kadalibandha village.
The was containing one tiffin bomb, 2 pressure-activated landmines, a few pregnancy test kits, medicines, belts and some other daily use items.
A bomb disposal squad was called up for assistance immediately and the explosives were defused.
The Moaists had kept the explosives to target the policemen later, said BSF officials.
