Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: The Odisha government on Monday hiked fares for all categories of passenger buses under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism, following a rise in fuel prices over the last few days.
Sources said, the fares of ordinary and express buses have been increased by six paise per km and seven paise per km respectively.
Similarly, travel in deluxe and AC deluxe buses will be dearer by two paise per km and eight paise per km respectively.
The fare for the ordinary bus will now be 80p/km as against 74p/km and the fare for express bus will be 84p/km instead of 77p/km.
Besides, the bus fare for super premium buses will now be Rs 2.17/km.
